Tanzania

With multiple line class, gender, and overall size IGFA world records, when it comes to fishing for giant Dogtooth Tuna and Giant Trevally, Tanzania has some of the best sport fishing in the world.

Tanzania has some 1,000 km of rugged coastline dotted with islands that make up the Zanzibar, Mafia, and Kilwa Archipelagoes and lie on the country’s continental shelf.

Couple that with warm waters, great accommodation and live aboard options and a long sport fishing season and you will find that Tanzania is sport fishing destination that – whether you are chasing IGFA records or looking for a fun fishing trip for the family – will not let you down.

Mozambique

The Quirimbas Archipelago of northern Mozambique, internationally dubbed as the ‘Maldives of Africa,’ is arguably the most remote – and least visited by tourists – archipelago of East Africa.

Made up of some 30 or so islands and as many tidal islets spanning approximately 120 nautical miles of remote coastline, the archipelago offers what is likely to be East Africa’s top sport fishing grounds for Giant Trevally.

The steep drop-off’s with adjacent flats are also home to very large Dogtooth Tuna while deep canyons lying between islands provide rich feeding grounds for Yellowfin Tuna and Wahoo. With mostly high end resorts located on a handful of islands, the archipelago offers a very private setting for world class resort-based or live aboard sport fishing charters.
